I had no idea "native plant" only was a thing. If you can grow it without ruining an ecosystem then, why not?

One could also ask what you mean by "ruining an ecosystem," as things do not remain static. I most often see people use this saying to mean something that is not conducive to the economy, not to imply that is what you are saying. It makes me think of some of the farmland south of me. The crops are vibrant and green, but the woods directly adjacent to it are obviously being deprived of water -- when pine tree's are this thirsty something is NOT right.

But someone looking out at that farm would say "this is good and healthy, look at all of my products."
